Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

That quote from Edgar Degas made me realize that art is not made only for yourself, the artist. It isn't made for your own satisfaction to create such a masterpiece. Truthfully, it is made because deep inside of you, you want to show the world the message your heart wants to convey. Life is black and white.

I am Elektra Andromeda De Guzman, and it has been four years since I discovered my passion for drawing and painting. Exactly four years from which I have turned eighteen years old. Now, I am currently in my senior year, studying Humanities and Social Sciences strand in STI College Caloocan and finally graduating this year. Those thirteen years of studying has been a roller coaster of growth and development for me. I'm glad that I'm still making it.

Drawing became my greatest hobby back in those days. As my love and passion grew for doing any kind of art, my future blurred a little. Years ago, I was determined to be a lawyer someday. However, it started to get to me that this hobby could possibly lead my future. Drawing taught me a lot. It taught me not to be afraid to start doing something from both the unknown and the blank pages in front of me. It taught me a lot that I even applied it to my life.

Art is definitely fun and meaningful, but my future is still a blur to me. One day...
